Digital Engineering for Integrated Design and Construction

Huge escalations in overnight construction costs and schedule delays have rendered nuclear energy commercially unattractive. To ensure the success of implementation and deployment of a new nuclear test reactor at a national laboratory, with support from the U.S. Department of Energy, the founders of PowerN have investigated various ways to integrate design, construction, and testing processes. Our DE solution enables interoperability between design and CAD software for inegrated design and manufacturing/construction, allowing seamless digital transfer of facility configuration information and management of facility assets and holistic digital management solution of production at geographically diverse sites, through well-established production theory that has been found to be quite effective in non-nuclear construction. Through this integrated approach, all stakeholders have shared resources of knowledge to help identify and minimize risk during design, construction, and operation and maintenance phases.
